I know that it has been a long time since I updated my blog. I'm really sorry for this.

I'm going to bring you up to date on a few things that I made. I'll post my fair entries later. I already feel like I have been at the computer forever.

I love this one.
First, this is one of my granddaughters, Samantha. She is a sweetheart and so cute! (can't tell I'm proud, can you?)

I made the dress. The top part is knitted with Bernat Cottontots in Strawberry. It's Summerlinn by Alice Schnebly and can be found on her web site here.
I sewed the material on the bottom. It took me a while to find just the right material.

I joined a Mystery Stole Knit Along. We get one clue each week for six weeks. This is the first clue all knitted up.

I'm using a cotton yarn and brown breads. It is prettier in person and is so soft.

This Modern Cabled Baby Bib by gibsongirl is a Ravelry pattern.

The only reason that I made it is because I like the pattern.
I thought that I would enter it is next years fair.

Sorry that the picture is bad.

This doily is Square Doily with Rose Center by American Thread Company. You can find the pattern here.

I have wanted to make this for a few years now and I finally just did it. I love it. I really love the older patterns. They have so much character.

This crocheted doily is Donna by Patricia Kristoffersen.

The pattern can be found in Leisure Arts #3818, Doilies with a Twist. It is made with Omega Beige thread. I was to use a size 6 hook but realized 3/4 of the way through that I grabbed a smaller size 9. I was not frogging it!

I am planning on entering it in the 2009 county fair. Just hope I don't misplace it.

Now I'm going to try to get you all caught up on some of the knitted dishcloths that I made.
(I really need to update my blog more often.)

This one is the July dishcloth for the Monthly-Dishcloth-Knit-Along.
I messed it up. I was watching Monk and not paying attention. After I got it off the needles, I realized that I missed some rows.

This is the August Monthly-Dishcloth-Knit-Along. It's a Rose Bud Leaf. I know the picture isn't very good and doesn't do the cloth justice at all.

It was made with Sugar and Cream Red on size 7 needles.

This cute little number is 'Two Piece Swim Suit'. It is so cute. I can remember the days that I wore one.

It is a Rachel van Schie pattern can be found on Ravelry here or on her Yahoo group here. She is very talented.

I used a size 6 needles. Really wish I would have used size 3 instead. I'm not sure on the yarn. It was in my left over stash.

This dishcloth is a Ravelry pattern called 'May You Find Peace In Your Heart'. You can find it here. I used size 6 needles.
I'm not sure what the yarn is. It was a left over in my stash.

Some of us are old enough to remember the Peace Sign. I love the pattern.

This School House is the September Monthly-Dishcloth-Knit-Along. It is so cute.

I'm going to give it to one of my granddaughters' to give to her teacher for Christmas. I'm going to make another dishcloth and a set of hotpad also.

This one is the August Mid-Month with Monthly-Dishcloth-Knit-Along. It's called Elvish Leaves. Kelly designed the pattern and did a great job.

The yarn is Sugar 'N Cream Violet Veil Ombree. It was some I had left over in my stash. I do love the colors. I used size 7 needles.

This pattern is called Diamonds and you can find the pattern on Ravelry here. I knitted it on size 8 needles. It is a real simple pattern.
I love this pattern and have been waiting for the right yarn to come along. The yarn is Peaches and Creme Sunrise. I got it in a Grab Bag that I ordered. I love the colors.

A Few Projects Finished!

This is a sweater that I made myself. It's the Blue Skies Jacket from the July '08 issue of Crochet!.
I added the pockets. I'm lost without pockets.

I used Yarn Bee Icelandic Jewels yarn. It has some wool in it so is nice, warm and soft.

I actually got to wear it on the 4th.

These are a few squares I made for Hugs From The Heart. This is a great way to use up some of the left overs.

A UFO FINALLY FINISHED!!!!

Well, I finally finished this baby blanket. The only thing I had left to do was to sew in the ends from where I stitched the squares together. (I hate tucking in the ends,)

I’m not going to mention just when I actually made this. It’s too embarrassing. The Historical Society would be in hot pursuit ..... lol

I guess that I now have it on have if I need it :)

This is about 90% of my stash. For some strange reason, I have a very hard time convincing my husband that I need more yarn.

I bought most of this on clearance. I love clearance sales!

I know that there are a couple afghans, a Teddy Bear, a few wraps and a few sweaters just waiting there. Maybe one of these days I'll get around to them.

These use to be hid in a room downstairs but since we moved I am having to deal with it.

And then there is the UFOs. That is a whole other story and I don't want to talk about them right now.

I am on several different crochet and knitting list. One had a Crochet-Along for this Stash Basket. I looked at it several times during the month. Really didn't have a use for it so I decided to pass on it.

Well, the last day of June, I decided that I could use a small basket in the bathroom. So I went back, and dug out the pattern. I like how the basket turned out and am putting it to good use but I wish I would have gotten the bright idea earlier in the month. Oh well ..... better late then never.

If you are interested in the pattern, you can find it here.

Done Jumped Off Into The Deep End .....

I have been looking at my stash .... looking at patterns .... back at my stash ..... back at the patterns. I finally decided to just jump in .... feet first!

This is my first knitted lace item. It's the Branching Out scarf pattern on Ravelry.

After I decided on this one, I read some of the comments. One said that it isn't a good first knitted lace project. Oh well ..... I decided to do it anyway. I'm not afraid of a challenge.

I figure that I'll take my time and go slow.

I don't know what the yarn is. This is some that I bought at the Goodwill store here.

Wish me luck!

I have had some fun these past few days and knitted some more dishcloths. Really, I tried to get my queue down some on Ravelry but when I took one off, I added a few more. Guess I lost a lot of ground. Oh well ..... this keeps me knitting and out of trouble ..... almost. It is so fun collecting patterns!

Here is what I accomplished .....

This one is a Ravelry pattern. It's called Clover Tweed.

I absolutely love this cloth. I love the feel of it. I love the way it made up.

I wish that you could reach in and feel it.

My husband suggested an afghan made like this.
Hmmmmm ..........

This one is another Ravelry pattern, Illusion Heart.

It isn't a very big cloth. I guess it would be great for kids.

I know that my choices for the yarn wasn't the best bit I still like it :)

This one is Scrap Slip Stitch Tile.

The possibilities are endless.

I looked at this pattern and looked at the odds and ends that I have left over. It is a great way to use up the left-overs!

I know this pattern came from the Cloth of the Week group. This is a great group for dishcloth patterns and help. If someone is thinking about getting into knitting dishcloths, I would recommend this groups as well as the Monthly Dishcloth group.

This one is Tuscany Tile Roof. If I remember right, the pattern came from the Cloth of the Week group.

I really liked how this one came out. It's a great cloth.

I am trying to expand my knitting abilities. There are times that I get so frustrated though.

This one is called Twisted Crochet Dishcloth.

It's a real easy one to crochet and is real thick.

Thought about crocheting two together and using it for a hot pad.

The picture does not do it justice.

Kinda' puts me in mind of ......

I thought this one was cute. It is real easy to knit up and didn't take much time. I changed the boarder and added two rows to the bottom and one to the top to make it larger.

If I knit it up again, I'll add a few extra stitches to each side too.

This would be a cute one for a baby.

I know that I really need to get some things finished up for the fair. I have about three weeks left. So, if the weather isn't too hot, the dishcloths are put on hold.

What do I do with the bowl?

This is Lacy Waterfall. It is the mid-month KAL with monthly Dishcloth. It is a pretty cloth. I didn't block this one. I like the feel of it not blocked. O.K. I maybe a little weired but tell me something I don't know.
I had problems getting the holes in the cloth. I admit .... I have "issues" with holes but I am working on it. I know I'll get the hang of it yet. I'M NOT GIVING UP!!!!

I found this pattern in the April 2000 Magic Crochet. It's called Brioche Basket. I loved the pattern and love the bowl but not sure what I'm going to do with it. Right now I have it sitting on top of a book case. It will be fine there unless Lily decides it is in her way. In the event that it is in her way, it will come crashing down. I'm not going to leave it on top the book case but until I figure out what to do with it....

This was originally crocheted with a cream colored thread. Some grape pop got spilled on it and wasn't discovered right away. I tried to get the pop out but that didn't work so I decided to dye it. I got some grape pop but it wasn't the same. It dyed it a tan color. I guess not all grape pops are created equal. I had my daughter bring me over the same kind of soda that caused that problem. I was surprised. The pop had a dark red tint to it. Anyway ..... I let it set for about a week or so in the pop and was very pleased how it came out.

I have several older thread crochet magazines. I love looking to them but this causes many problems. I love to crochet with thread. I could crochet about everything in these magazines. I could spend hours (and have spent hours) drooling over the patterns. I can make this .... and this .... and this ..... (You get the picture.)
See, my kids love the afghans so I opt out of a lot of thread projects.

Back On Line Again

I finally got my computer fixed. My daughter's boyfriend managed to get me a virus. (not a good subject) It did a lot of damage and I lost a lot. All of my knitting patterns are gone, several crochet patterns, several different folders and my favorites. I would like to cry but it wouldn't do any good. I'm going to see if I can get some help in rebuilding my favorites.

With my computer being down, I have had time to get some crocheting and knitting done. I am working on some stuff for the fair. I have five weeks to see what I can get accomplished.

Let me show you some of the stuff that I did .......

These are the latest dishcloths that I done up. The patterns came from the Monthly Knit Along. I really like the patterns they have and they are fun to do.

This is a pattern I got off of Ravelry. I tried two other colors but didn't like it. I do like how it came out with the orange. This one took a while to knit up. I'm not sure if I would make up another one.

I made this afghan for my youngest son, Nic. He had only one afghan. I know that his two older siblings have more than that but I couldn't get an answer from either one of them as to just how many they have. If there is an afghan involved I know that they would lie ..... lol
I used 15 different 12" squares. I like how it came together.

I made me a few more sleep mask. These things are so nice. I'm glad I found this pattern. Now I have three sets and I can rotate them.

I made these Fingerless Mittens out of Wool-ease for my daughter-in-law. They like to go hunting and I was concerned about her fingers getting cold. After I made them, I found out that she is allergic to wool. So.... I guess that I can keep these!

Life has been more than a little taxing this year. My husband and I have suffered several losses, one right after another. This has also stirred up several health problems that I have. I got a small taste of what Job went through. It is hard to say that God is good all the time when the rug has been pulled out from under you. It is so easy to say when things are going good but when the going get tough ...... well .... that's another story. I don't understand it and can't trace God's hand but I have to trust His heart.

It amazes me just how quickly some people lie and just how fast those lies are believed. What is worse, these were people that I held in high regards.
Anyway ...... enough about life. Now onto the fun things :)

This is a Sleep Mask that I knitted. It is the first time that I tried this stitch and I really like the yarn. It is Sugar 'N Cream Country Print.

I have a lot of problems sleeping and have been looking for one of these for some time. I was so happy when I found this pattern on Ravelry. It didn't take long to knit up at all. I know that it isn't perfect but it will do the job.

This is my Spring Shawl. It is made out of recycled yarn. I wanted a cotton yarn but didn't want the dishcloth cotton so ...... I headed to my LYS and found this. It's Knit One Crochet Too 2nd Time Cotton. I would use this yarn again.

Now I'll have to see just how long I hang onto it. My daughter likes it too.

This is a cell phone case I made for my daughter.

I would watch her go through this routine every time it rang.
She would search through her hoodie pockets and the pockets on her jeans saying "What did I do with my cell phone?"

It was time that Mom stepped in and did something. I put a hook on it so it hangs on her belt loop. No more searching through her pockets.

(I'm proud of myself !)

I knitted this dishcloth just because I liked it.

Don't think that I could ever use it.
More than likely it will become a Christmas gift.

I found the pattern on Ravelry.
(I love that place:)

This is another Ravelry pattern ..... and another one that I made just because I liked it ...... and another one that will be gifted out :)

This is another Ravelry pattern but this one is crocheted.
Yep ...... it's going to be gifted.

This dishcloth was the March Monthly Dishcloth Knit-Along.

I love it. It's called 'The Empty Tomb'.

Not sure what I'm going to do with it.

This was the mid-March Monthly Dishcloth Knit-Along.

It's cute!

This is another one that will be gifted out too.

I have been knitting some dishcloths from the Monthly Dishcloth KAL. It has been fun.

This is the Mid-Feb. cloth. I tried three different color combinations and two different needle sizes before I happy with it. The pattern is called Finders Keepers. I made it in Hot Pink and Yellow.

This is the Feb. Dishcloth KAL. It's a Valentine Candy Box.
I'm happy with it!

This is the Mid-Jan. cloth. The holes didn't come out right but that's O.K. It is made out of Sugar N' Cream Lavender.

This is the first KAL for the new year. I'm not much into football but I'm sure it will do just fine on the dishes ... lol

This one is called 'Grandma's Favorite Dishcloth".

It is a fun pattern and easy to do. I do see more of these in my future.
